How to Measure
How to Measure for Your Radiator Pipe Cover (Fast & Accurate)
To order the correct cover, measure three things:
Step 1) Measure pipe size (15mm or 22mm)
Measure the pipe outside diameter (straight across the pipe, not around it).
- If it measures about 15mm → choose 15mm
- If it measures about 22mm → choose 22mm
Tip: measure at the thickest point (often near paint build-up, clips, or close to the valve).
Step 2) Check you have room for a 45mm outer diameter cover
Because every cover is 45mm OD, check clearance along the pipe run—especially near:
- skirting/walls
- valves
- clips and bends
If the pipe is very close to the wall/skirting, a 45mm cover may touch or not clip on cleanly.
Step 3) Choose your thickness: 6mm or 10mm
This is your style choice:
- 6mm = slim look
- 10mm = chunkier look
Choose a 15mm or 22mm clip-on wood radiator pipe cover in Oak, Walnut, Maple, or Beech, then select 6mm or 10mm thickness. Always measure pipe outside diameter and confirm 45mm clearance near skirting boards, valves, clips, and bends for the best fit.
Installation Instructions (Clip-On Wood Radiator Pipe Covers)
Before you start (30 seconds)
Turn heating off and let pipes cool before fitting.
Wipe the pipe clean and dry (remove dust/grease).
Check you have room for the cover’s 45mm outer diameter, especially near skirting and valves.
Fitting (clip-on)
Line up the cover with the pipe where you want it to sit.
Hold the cover with the opening facing the pipe and press evenly until it clips on.
Tip: apply pressure with your thumbs along the length rather than pushing in one spot.
If you’re fitting multiple lengths, clip the first piece on, then fit the next piece so the ends meet neatly.
Positioning tips (to keep valves usable)
Leave a small gap near TRVs/lockshield valves so you can still turn the valve easily.
If there are pipe clips or elbows, stop the cover short of the obstacle.
Removing (for access/maintenance)
Grip the cover firmly and pull outward gently to unclip.
If it’s tight, start from one end and work along gradually (don’t twist aggressively).
Troubleshooting (common issues)
Won’t clip on: check you ordered the correct pipe size (15mm vs 22mm). Thick paint build-up can also prevent clipping—measure at the thickest point.
Rubbing the wall/skirting: you may not have enough clearance for a 45mm OD cover; reposition or stop short of that area.
Feels loose: ensure the cover is fully seated by pressing evenly along its length.
Safety & care note
Designed for normal radiator pipe temperatures. Do not fit onto very hot pipes (always let cool first).
Avoid soaking/standing water—wipe clean with a slightly damp cloth.
