How to Choose
How to Choose Radiator Pipe Covers
Choosing the right radiator pipe covers is quick when you follow four checks: pipe size, wood, thickness, and clearance. Use the guide below to order the correct clip-on cover first time.
1) Pick the correct pipe size: 15mm or 22mm
Your cover must match the outside diameter of your pipe:
- 15mm (most common radiator pipe size)
- 22mm (thicker pipework)
If you’re not sure, follow the “How to Measure” section.
2) Choose your timber (real wood)
Select the wood that best matches your room:
- Oak – classic, pronounced grain
- Walnut – darker/richer tone
- Maple – light and modern
- Beech – warm light tone, subtle grain
Note: real wood varies naturally in grain and colour.
3) Select cover thickness: 6mm or 10mm
Both thicknesses give a premium finish—choose the look you prefer:
- 6mm (Slim): more minimal appearance
- 10mm (Chunky): more substantial look
4) Check clearance before ordering (important)
All our covers have a fixed 45mm outer diameter (OD).
Please check there is enough space for a 45mm round cover, especially near:
- skirting boards / walls
- radiator valves (TRV / lockshield)
- pipe clips, elbows/bends, and floor entry points
If space is tight, you may need to stop the cover short of the valve/obstacle.
Quick checklist
✅ Pipe size: 15mm / 22mm
✅ Wood: oak / walnut / maple / beech
✅ Thickness: 6mm / 10mm
✅ Clearance: 45mm OD around the pipe (watch valves + skirting)
